Step 1.  Questions for before the shoot.

Are you in every city?
Since Video Cover Letter.com is a startup, we are only releasing our services to select cities. Of course, we will be growing and coming to more markets! If you are interested in our services, but live in a city outside of our current markets, contact us. Currently we are accepting applications for Greater Pittsburgh, PA and Greater Erie, PA.
How do I get started?
To begin the process, we only need a few things. First and foremost, your script.  You can either email the script to us or submit it through our website.  All scripts must be submitted no later than one week before the shoot.  If you submit your script later, your shoot date may possibly be delayed.  Secondly in order to schedule a shoot date, you will need to provide a small down payment to reserve your appointment.
What if I'm unable to make my appointment?
Even though we will make every attempt to be flexible, all cancellations must be made 24 hours before your shoot.  Cancellations after this will result in delays for your shoot and a forfeiture of your down payment.
Will you look at my script?
Sure!  Before we load it into our teleprompter, we will definitely take a look at it.  Depending on what package you purchase, we can go through and provide comments and make suggestions.  Either way we will look at it.  Our suggestion is to have your script looked at by a career counselor or a trusted individual.
How long should my video be?
Great question!  People are impatient.  Simply put, your video must be no longer than three minutes.

Step 2. Questions about the shoot.

What should I wear?
Well, the way you look for your Video Cover Letter is VERY important.  Dress professionally like you are going to an interview for your top job prospect.  Avoid vertical stripes and any green colors, or colors close to green.  Ladies, if you're not sure...  bring a few choices.  Guys, just wear nice pants and a button down plain shirt.  Jacket optional.
How long will the shoot be?
Depending on the package you choose, plan for one hour.
Do I have to memorize my lines?
Practice makes perfect, however you won't have to memorize your lines.  We have a great little thing called a teleprompter that you can just read your script from.  That doesn't mean you should come unprepared.  The more you practice your lines, the better your video will turn out.  Basically, practice until you can read your lines smoothly without any mistakes, umms, craps, or other expletives..
What if I make mistakes?
You will definitely make mistakes during the shoot.  No problem at all.  That's the exact reason why we schedule an hour for the shoot.  If you make mistakes, we will just ask you to start over.  Don't worry, you won't necessarily have to start from the beginning.

Step 3. Questions about editing.

How long will it take for you to complete editing?
It usually takes a few days to a week or more to complete editing depending on our production schedule.  We will make every effort to complete your video in a timely manner and provide you with the best customer service possible.  Rush priority service is available at an additional cost.
How about creating the perfect feel?
Depending on what package you purchase, you have a choice of solid color backgrounds or animated backgrounds to create the perfect feel.
How do I select which text to animate?
When you submit your script, please indicate what text you would like animated.  Depending on what package you purchase, you can choose from different animation techniques.  Select some key text words that you would like to draw attention to.
What is an end screen?
Every one of our video cover letters has an end screen that shows your personal contact information.  We take a picture of you during the video shoot that we use for your final graphic.  If you are afraid to release your real telephone number, register for a free Google Voice account.

Step 4. Questions about sharing your video

What will I get when the video is done?
Depending on your package, you can get a video file to upload to your choice of websites, a DVD and/or a link to your video on YouTube.
Will I have to upload it myself?
Yes and no.  It really depends on your package. We can upload your content to our YouTube channel or your YouTube account.  You will have to upload your content to your personal social media sites.  We can provide you the appropriate file to make it easy when you share your video.
Where should I post my video?
Well, we really recommend YouTube as a primary place.  We also recommend putting it on to your personal website, Vimeo, Facebook, LinkedIn, and any social media sites you use.
Can I email my video?
Yes and no. Video files are rather large and most email services won't be able to email such a large file.  What you can email is the link to your video.  This way, the hiring manager will be able to see a full quality video in HD.
How can I pay you?
We love getting paid and can accept either Cash, Check, or Major Credit Cards.  Final payment must be made by the completion of the shoot.  We won't be able to provide you with your final edit until we receive final payment.  I'm sure you can understand!
